On Friday, Rachel from Woolf Fisher specifically talked about the Winter Learning Journey( The Winter Learning Journey was a holiday program where the students made blog post dedicated to the main theme). Even those I didn't post many activity I still had a favourite task throughout the 2 weeks. My favourite was the logo challenge as it involved you trying to be creative with the way you designed the logo. students from PBS participated in this program (An amazing feat). Congratulation to anyone who got a certificate or prize.

The Rio Poem:

\

One by one a drink is spilled
Making everyone still
As if someone was eating my friend bill
I wake up from my dream
to hear a loud scream
We land down in Rio
With many people protesting
I feel that I might be one them
Stuck in a beautiful City

B-Ball( Aka Basketball)

Basketball is an official sport that is part of the Olympics.  They have been part of the official list of sports since 1936. It has changed ever since. for 62 years, only college players were allowed to attend until 1996, where the US Dream Team destroyed the competition by 40( Every Match). Getting back on topic, here are two rules you need to follow to play proper basketball. Flagrant Fouls- Flagrant fouls( means hard physical contact resulting in the offensive player or defensive to be hurt by a punch/kick or grab). Flagrant foul is meant to send a player off if they put the victim in massive pain or breaches the safety rules of playing Basketball.
Shot Clock- Shot Clock is a utility that is needed by referees when to stop the game if the opposing teams breaches the 24 second playing time. This help as it evens out the playing field for scoring.

Why girls were not allowed in the Ancient Olympics:

In Ancient Greece, women were not allowed into the main Olympics but they did have their own festival of sports but this was for unmarried women. In my opinion I followed this rule but if this happened in now, it wouldn't work because of the feminism power now. Its fair since it makes it more easier for the men to have it because the men are believed to be strong in Ancient Greece and did the sports which required combat. Men did Pentathlon, Boxing, wrestling etc., so it would be easy to assume that girls would do sprints/Running.

Milo of K(or C)roton

Today, I've finished my first activity of the Winter Learning Journey. The first was to write interesting facts about Milo of Croton (Or Kroton). He was a 6x Olympic Victor(Winner) in wrestling.

Winter Learning Journey

Today, marks the first day of the Winter Learning Journey( It's throughout the holidays). The Winter Journey is solely based around the upcoming Summer Olympics(Which is strange since the Olympic  will happen late winter because it is in the south). So ahead with the task, I picked running as the sport I would picked but for the endurance since I usually ain't going short term so it would be fitting to try and compete in the Endurance races
