Today, for Social Studies we went back to term 1 and researched about our Sustainability unit we had completed. My group had decided to do focus on Rain Garden thanks to Promiseland.

Sustainability Term 1:

During this term, the Year Nine's have been focusing on the sustainability 6-7 projects. My group, NeProLeOn V.2 decided to work on the sustainability of the Rain Garden. We wanted to clean out the Rain Garden and make the rain garden contain good plants. They have been poorly treated. However, the topics for the other sustainability projects were: Housing, Turbidity of the Omaru Creek, Protecting our Culture & Identity, Healthy foods, and Public places. Overall, I liked all of the school's project because it represents different areas of our environment but also because it also a variety of projects that are not the same thing.

Hi,
During the middle periods of Friday, 9RMz ( My Class!)  were given a warm greeting by Whaea Noelene ( Representing Ruapotaka Marae). Side note: We were also greeted with Glen Taylor's Year 5/6 class. Whaea Noelene was talking about the sustainability of the houses that resided whanau's. She revealed three Korowai which represented time its self. Future,Present and Past. Korowai usually use feathers and represents your ancestry, but the korowai used Houses as a symbol to represent Glen Innes community as a whole. Thank you to Mrs Apelu and Mrs Anderson for organising my class to attend the event.
