Read Theory

For 20 Minutes each day, we do Read 20. We use Read theory as a helper for us in reading and answering questions from the passage. The passage is easy or hard depending on what stage you are (Eg: I'm on 4.5 GPA so that will mean I will be having harder passages than someone on 2.9). Obviously this an North American website since we don't use GPA (or easier Grade per Average) but this a more reliable tool ti use as it helping us think about the question that is from the text. It  helps in test as this makes us look back at the text to see if we think that's the answer.

This advertisement needed to be a very persuasive, you added features that needed to hook in the viewer/reader. This was a fun activity with my partner.

Donald Trump Criticizes Muslim Family:

Today for Current Events, I read an article about Trump criticizing a Muslim family  of a Slain US Muslim soldier. This issue could destroy Trump link with foreigners (Which already was). Trump says that they sacrificed their own child.

Current Events:Euro-Revision 2016

Today, I started doing my reading Can do with doing Current Events. My DLO was based around the backlash of Euro-Vision 2016. If you don't know, Ukraine's Jamala( Susana Jamalaanidova) song about the fall of Soviet Union and the dictator, Joseph Stalin. The article was also about the petition that demanded the host of Eurovision (Swedish Broadcasting Union).

Bias

On Monday, my group for reading were learning about bias. Bias means a  person's point of view or choosing 1 person's point of view over the other. Mrs K showed us two examples showing bias. In one example the point of view was about the choosing of male musicians (involved in symphonies) over female musicians. In the other example, the writer was persuading the reader (or audience) to stop using cell-phones (while driving) by only using one point of view.  These two examples show a different type of bias but are linked because of the one point of view that is shown through out these two examples.

ANZAC Poems

During the holidays, ANZAC day will happen. Now since it been 101( And 97 years since the end) years, our teachers came up with the idea to remind us the authors purpose to writing  4 famous poems. I think personally that this task was fun due to the fact that you had to add your evidence for your thinking ( of the main idea).
