Day 3: Activity 2

The finale of my 8 year journey.

Its started late in the year of 2008, I was the shy students ( As it was my first time entering school). Knowing nothing except 1+1, It has certain been a ride ever since. Well 8 Years later, I have left the PBS after they have made the student I am today ( Which I am Grateful for). The long hard 8 years have had many exciting events ( Like, the Waitakere Ranges walk and many other wonderful trips). Now, I shall move on to college without the guidance of my amazing teacher ( Mrs Anderson, Ms Kirkpatrick and etc...). Thank you to Panmure Bridge School for Creating the student I am and all of the friends that I've gained in this 8 year journey ( Thanks to Ana, Cecillia, Sebastian, John and many others😃).P.S: As I was writing this I began to cry because of the beautiful memories I had at the school which I called safe 2/3 of my life.

Summer Learning Journey: Bullfighting

Image result for Bullfighting

Bullfighting 2 reasons:

I personally think Bullfighting should stop because of these two reasons.

Reason 1:
Bullfighting has injured or even more worse, caused deaths. You may like the entertainment but for what cost. We might lose nothing but the matadors might.

Reason 2:
The Matadors put their life on the line. Bulfighting are a risky sport. Matador could inspire young kids to do this sport. Worst case scenario: A young child try to fight a bull, bad things could happen to the kid.

Day 2: Summer Learning Journey

I've finally started Day 2 of the Summer Learning Journey ( Don't worry, I will be doing Week 1's bonus activity in 1 blog post). Anyways, this is my DLO about the 5 questions of your  country capital city ( In my case, Tokyo). You would be asked 5 questions about your capital city.

Summer Learning Journey Day 1:

Yesterday ( Despite  this was finished  on Saturday  I had no time).  I finished my 1 official activity of the Summer Learning Journey.  The task was to find 3 facts about your country ( In my case, I chose Japan).

Week 1 Day 1: Choosing my Destination?

Image result for Japan

This Summer Learning Journey, I have decided to pick Japan as the country I will be learning about this learning journey. My previous Summer Learning Journey, I picked Germany. I have picked Japan as it provides me alot of information but also learning about their culture, languages they speak and many more. My goal this journey is to surpass my tally of blog post of 12 last year.

Summer Learning Journey

On Tuesday, my school will be finished ( But that doesn't mean I can start this amazing journey). If you have not been here since the beginning of 2016 or the Term 2 holidays. This Journey usually  takes 2-4 weeks. I'm participating in this event as prepares me for the future but also makes my mind train it self ( I know it does not make sense).  My goal this time, is to make sure I post up everyday but also comment on 10 blogs ( As well).

Graduation 2016:

On the cold night of a Wednesday, the year 8's were  busy dancing and having fun at the Pakuranga Sailing Club. It was a blast, watching everyone have fun but also talk to fellow pupils about other topics. Thank you to Ms Kirkpatrick, Mr Johnston, Mrs Anderson and the board of trustees for creating this event. I worked with John to create this short movie.

Rockets

Today,  LS2 had their second full day at Tamaki College to create Rockets. Mr Dunn and Mrs Ferguson made sure we had created our rockets and launch it into the air.  Most of us had finished our rockets and waiting to launch it but some people ( Like me, I needed to finish off my rocket and many other people).   Almost every group Rocket launched into the sky, with the help of Mr Dunn's drone, we captured footage of the rocket launched with the help of camera's we got most of the photos/videos we needed. One of the key points of the day was Sajiha's group rocket which flew high into the sky to never be seen ( Its familiar to what happened to Carrot). Thank you to Mr Dunn and Mrs Ferguson for creating such a magnificent 2 days of Rockets.

Trip to Tahuna Torea Reserve:

Yesterday,  the Senior school went to the Tahuna Torea  Reserve. Last year, we unfortunately didn't have our school picnic due to terrible weather condition. Luckily, with the money we had already put in for the trip. We used that money to go to the Tahuna Torea Reserve in Glendowie. Room 5, LS1 and LS2 spent 2 hours at the reserve learning about the Godwit/Kuaka's habitat. Thank you to Mrs Anderson, Mr Ogilvie, Mrs Kirkpatrick and everyone who had fun!

Rocket Technology:

Last week, LS2 stayed at Tamaki College for the entire day to create rockets.  We created straw rockets to measure our distance. It was really fun to see everyone collaborating and creating their own rockets.  We spent half of the day learning and creating straw rockets meanwhile the other half was filled with fun and excitement. In the afternoon we were in the midst of creating our very own rocket ( Or team rocket). We all learned about what will happen this Friday about our rocket being launched into the sky. Mr Dunn had created his own rocket but it had backfired. However, Mrs Ferguson 3D printed rocket named "Carot" flew in the sky to the point where it disappeared into the sky never to be seen again. Hopefully each rocket, flies high above the cloud.

Rockets

Last Friday, LS2 spent a full day at Tamaki College creating rockets. Mr Dunn and Mrs Ferguson organised this day. We all worked hard to create our straw rockets. However, we wrote a hypothesis about what will happen to our rocket ( A good or bad result). It was a fun day, and we hope to finish off most of our work this Friday.

Hockey:

Today, LS2 had their third and final session of Hockey. Our coaches taught us to dribble the ball but also be selfless by encouraging other teammates and working together to reach the opponent goal. It was a blast and hope to use the skills I learn to good use.
